Faith Lutheran Youth (FLY) from the Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield came to CCHS recently and assisted us with several projects, including trimming our hedge, sorting cat and dog food, weeding and mulching in our flower bed, and sweeping our entry way.  The group also enjoyed walking dogs.  We thank all of them, including their Youth Director Jennifer Smith, for their hard work!

 

St. John's Marshfield Brownie troop came to CCHS for a tour and enjoyed meeting all of our cats and dogs.  We enjoyed showing the girls what CCHS is all about.  We also thank them for their donation!

 

Three Oaks Golden Living Center, Alzheimer's Care Unit, recently came to CCHS to visit with the animals.  While there, the group also presented Shelter Manager, Chuck Wegner (in front), with home-baked doggie treats the group had made.  We very much enjoyed the group's visit, and our dogs most certainly enjoyed the treats!  We thank them very much for their efforts!

 

On Friday, May 4th, the Choir from the Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan School District visited CCHS for their MAD (Make a Difference) Day.  They worked very hard helping us clean out a storeroom so that we can expand our surgery room for our 'FixaPet' program.  Of course, then they also got to spend time with the cats and dogs.  Many thanks go to this group for their dedicated effort and great work ethic.  They did indeed Make a Difference!

 

 

Students from Stanley Boyd High School visited CCHS on Wednesday, May 2nd, and enjoyed time with the kitties and walking dogs as well.

 

 

The Spencer Junior High Student Council held a donation drive for CCHS, and then came to tour our facility.  They brought along some great donations as well as a very nice envelope filled with cash!!  We very much enjoyed showing them the animals at the Shelter and thank them for their support of our efforts!

 

 

The Woodgrove Workers 4-H Club held a Rabies Clinic with Dairyland Vet Clinic in January.  Valerie Niemi and Isabel Niemi were very pleased to present a check for $400 to Cheri Wegner, Director of Administrative Services at CCHS.  We were very happy to receive their donation, and will be putting the funds towards our surgery room.  We thank them very much for their hard work!

 

 

Cathy Drewa from the Marshfield Campus of Mid-State Technical College brought donations to CCHS recently.  The donations had been collected in honor of their late colleague, Karen Lecy.  We think this is a wonderful way to remember their friend, and we thank them for sharing that honor with us.

 

 

WFLA Lodge 408 City Point recently donated much needed cat food to CCHS.  Harry Brickner and Angie Garbisch are shown with Shelter Manager Chuck Wegner (center) above.  We thank them for their generosity!

 

 

We think sharing a birthday celebration with CCHS is just a wonderful thing to do!  Megan recently celebrated her birthday and asked her friends to bring donations for CCHS to the party instead of gifts.  The girls are shown above at the party.  They are (from left) Nicole, Haily, Megan, Maddison, and Macey.  The girls then brought the donations to CCHS where they also got to meet the animals and tour the Shelter.  We thank Megan and friends so very much for such a special birthday celebration!!

 

 

Shown above are the 2nd grade classes from Nasonville Elementary School, who visited CCHS on Friday, November 17th.  42 students came to the Shelter and brought with them a whole pile of supplies, as well as almost $200 in donations.  We are very grateful to these great students, not only for their wonderful donations, but for coming to the Shelter to see what we are all about.  We were very happy to be able to show them how their donations will make a difference in the lives of our cats and dogs.  We also express our gratitude to their teachers, Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Chronquist.  We hope that everyone enjoyed touring the Shelter and visiting with our animals!
